Manx Radio has launched an ordering system for its field sales team. The Gobi system has been developed in partnership with Manx Radio’s traffic system partner, G.E.S, and operates in a secure environment across the internet. Sales executives operate the system from iPad 2 tablet computers, the system allowing them to build a campaign from scratch in front of the client. Gobi (GES Online Booking Interface) operates in a familiar way; similar to buying from any shopping site such as Amazon, selected items are placed into a shopping basket and checked out. Once the campaign has been built it is taken to ‘check out’ and automatically e-mailed to the client's business and Manx Radio’s order processing system. Manx Radio’s Business Director John Marsom said “we are privileged to have been working side by side with G.E.S on what is a groundbreaking field based order system. Initial trials have shown that the Manx Radio sales team are finding the system very easy to use and it is enabling them to spend more time on customer facing activities. Clients are also impressed with the system and the way they can see campaigns being constructed” Manx Radio was the first commercial radio station to start broadcasting in the British Isles in 1964. Today Manx Radio commands one of the largest percentage audience reach of any radio Station in the British Isles.
